sadly gone from the local airwaves - after four months - is
Harry Jay Katz who got fired from his ballsy WNWR (1540-AM)
show for having a naked lady in the studio broadcast onto Katz's
own website; this after Katz had already spanked and genitally
pierced folk on-air. "They didn't hire me because I work
in a f---in' library," said Katz of WNWR in the Daily News... |

| In
last Thursday's column, Harry Jay Katz was shopping for a new
cohost for his radio show. He now will have to shop for a new
station. After four months, WNWR-AM (1540) let him go before
Tuesday's show, perhaps because of scantily clad guests. Katz
yesterday said he was given "no paper trail, no nothing.
I wuz robbed." A WNWR executive declined comment. Katz
said he was talking to a public access cable station and other
radio stations. |

Einhorn's longtime buddy and Philadelphia bon vivant Harry Jay
Katz doesn't disagree with the guilty verdict, but says he'll
nonetheless support Philly's most famous ex-fugitive. Friendship
notwithstanding, he confesses that Abraham's tenacity enables
him to "take Ira's guilt to the bank." "He was
a man before his time and now he's an enigma to Philadelphia.
It's sort of the same reason why some people have a fascination
with [Eastern State Penitentiary]. They want to see the cell
where Willie Sutton stayed or where Al Capone was held,"
says Katz, who laughingly recalls ribbing his friend the day
before he fled about how he'd soon be making designer license
plates in prison. "Back then, Philadelphia had four intellectuals
and Ira was one of them," says Katz, who didn't believe
Einhorn was guilty for years. "Today, he's just a 61-year-old
ex-guru hippie murderer. What's been going on is disgraceful.
I mean, face the music, you murdered someone. If someone did
that to my kid, I'd blow his damn brains out." Still, Katz
sent word to Einhorn before his return that he was interested
in hiring him to review books for his WNWR-AM 1540 radio program.
"Hey, the guy's bright. He's a great writer and a great
book reviewer," Katz reasons. "With my background
and career, I don't care if there's any backlash about it either.
Maybe a couple more people would even tune in. There are a lot
of libraries in prisons, aren't there? We could tap that audience."

Hasta la vista, Enquirer
Harry Jay Katz, gearing up for the 4 p.m. Tuesday debut
of his entertainment chat show on WNWR-AM (1540), fired off
a missive to the National Enquirer, which recently labeled pal
of 25 years Arnold Schwarzenegger as "cruel," "boorish,""incapable
of being faithful" and "notoriously cheap." Katz
recounts how Arnold flew in just to see his father when he was
gravely ill. "Stop mudslinging a remarkable man or . .
